The prostate gland is located below the bladder and in front of the rectum. The size of the prostate starts growing with age and in some men can cause particular problems.

Practically all types of prostate cancers are adenocarcinomas. These cancers of prostate grow from the gland cells. Other types of prostate cancer can be sarcomas, carcinomas, neuroendocrine tumors, transitional cell carcinomas.

Some pre-cancerous conditions of the prostate gland can be used to put men in the group of risks and monitor this group regularly.
